Lion Brand 2009 Fashion Show

I really like a lot of these, especially the one at 3:17.

These scarves cry out, "I am made with bulky easy-to-use yarn!" They do not cry out, "I am fashionable and aesthetically pleasing!" Hooray for keeping textile arts alive and hooray for the charities that benefit. People will wear these scarves out of pride in their handiwork, not a desire to look good.

The show went by so fast I couldn't really see anything. The camera angle was terrible! Most of what I could see wasn't very interesting.

I'm normally a pretty big fan of Lion Brand, especially the new organic line. But I have to say that I am very disappointed in this fashion show. I saw about four items I would even consider spending time on.

2:48 looks like she has a baby in that scarf.

Hmm... a bit interesting, but not really that inspiring. Good colors and imagination, but something seems missing...

The fashions were interesting and different. I am anxious to make several of them especially The ruffle scarf as well as the hooded scarf, the shrug, the childs poncho and the multicolor, threaded through scarf.

I only saw maybe 3 items that I would have liked to have seen more of, other than that, it was really difficult to watch. Fashion is one thing, grotesquely bulky, bland, and thrown together is another...I wouldn't even use my scrap yarn for most of those "Garments"....
