Phluph was one of many bands catergorized as part of the "Bosstown Sound" in 1968. But unlike some of their fellow Boston bands, their album is actually really good (Listen to Orpheus...yukkk). Because of the countries backlash and dissavproval of what the West Coast claimed as nothing more than a record companies way of making a buck, most Boston bands were black listed and their records did not sell. While most "Bosstown" bands I feel were not worth mentioning Phluph stands out as one of the best from that ". scene". They only released one LP before dissapearing into obscurity.
This is a good song by Phluph, no question! But I also think Orpheus is good too. Orpheus has a hint of soul in their songs (which makes them danceable at times) and the grooves on some of their songs are also pretty nice. Both of these bands from Bosstown are alright by me. =)
