Rex Dallas was born in Wallerawang, a small mining town near Lithgow, in regional New South Wales.
Another pioneer of the old time traveling shows. He toured extensively with the great Rick and Thel Carey Show.
Considered one of Australia's finest yodellers. His distinctly falsetto voice adds a great feeling to his ballads .
Rex was awarded a gold guitar at the Tamworth Country Music Awards in 1975 for his haunting and beautifully written song "Old Wallerawang".
Rex has endevoured to retire a couple of times but his loyal (and large) following wont have a bar of it.... and that is a bonus for us all.
A showman you should make an effort to see in concert... you will not be disappointed.
In this song Rex pays tribute to the Australian Bush Ballad.
The track is available on CD - the source is in the video.
