  • The food industry, like the medical industry is not about "feeding the world" or "saving lives", its about money.

  • I'm with this guy. I grew up eating unsprayed fresh food right from our back yard garden. I had a short period of eating comercial food and found how awful it is. I do all my own cooking - no recipes. I've 2rules: Its got to taste great & its got to be healthy. (Don't care what it looks like). People think I have strange tastes. I look at what they're eating and ... (I won't say :)

  • food is sold for profit not for health. makes sense !!

  • I dont think the idea is really raw verses cooked... Its Nature verses Processed. We really need to understand any illness we can have, nature really does provide a cure. The food we eat has been taken over by special interest groups - who really, truly don't care about our health! Its about the bottom line. And the government who used to at one point watch out for us has been bought and sold to the highest bidder. I am really grateful for documentaries like this. Thank you!

  • @thrivesurvive not all raw produce is best for you... carrots for example are easier to digest when steamed or boiled. They're also other produce like carrots that mixed w/ lipids (fats) make it easier to digest as well. Basically what im saying is eating foods that are lightly cooked isnt a bad thing!

  • @thrivesurvive I wish more people would realize this, It seems like, people who are even dying won't change their diet. WOW! Keep spreading the love!

  • Strong naturalistic fallacy

  • @dan46and2

Anecdotal evidence? Man, you're fucking stupid. Learn a thing or two. Plus, she was not trying to convince you to go raw anyway so who gives a shit if you personally won't go raw.

  • @thrivesurvive Anecdotal evidence isn't usable in place of facts. There's nothing "self-evident" about raw food being good for you, it may make sense to you, but UFO's might make sense to you as well. I'm not inclined to try going raw entirely, so without outside evidence that it's actually beneficial, I probably won't. Some foods, HAVE been proven to lose some/most their nutrition from being cooked, and I'll always try to work more raw greens in, but as for going all raw? Unlikely, for me.

  • @dan46and2 My take on it is, what do you have to lose by trying raw food? Nothing. Why sit around and wait for science to prove anything when you can try it and see for yourself? Eating raw is logical and intuitive. I don't know why anyone would discount anecdotal evidence. It's not like anyone is lining up to fund raw food research. In fact, why would anyone research what is self-evident? There is a ton of science and proof though. You just have to take the time to read it.
