hey,
you can have both gnome & KDE in the same desktop.
just by writing "desktop-plasma" in the terminal after installing the kubuntu package.
Hope you like it because I liked it..!

Nobody ever said W7 copied KDE
However people didn't see any difference before W7 was out...

you click sessions when you are logging into ubuntu then click kde. :-)

Hey Windows 7 actually did. U r just not using the whole benefits of KDE. :) BTW thanks for the tutorial. I have used KDE on Opensuse and it was actually a lot like WIndows 7

@TomHopkins24 Yes. When you are at the login screen, there will be an option called "session" where you can pick.

I have Windows 7 and I've used KDE, all windows is a KDE knockoff.

@Protomasterexe Well, I agree (sort of) for Vista and 7. XP and earlier bear no resemblance, and I'm not sure KDE existed when XP came out. But after really using Windows 7 as my primary OS (on my Windows side anyway), I retract my statement thet they didn't steal. Aero is a blatant knockoff of KDE.

hey, i wanted to ask, (even though i'll sound like a noob) how do you7 actually GET into KDE after you log out... i believe its at the bottom of the log-in screen.. is that right?
