SEVEN
Compagnie Pal Frenak
available online from http://www.artfilms.com.au

Pal Frenak caused a sensation on the European dance scene with his new dance culture, his deep affinity with forms of expression that extend beyond techniques and norms, and his innovative choreography, he has had a defining impact on the evolution of contemporary dance.

In Seven, he addresses the issue of becoming an expatriate, the individuals breaking with his own culture and integration into a foreign society. The production uses contemporary elements of visual arts, and ventures out to the ultimate threshold of physical performance, pushing the boundary between the possible and the impossible. Seven is a vision of a world where the boundary between dreams and reality is blurred.

Dancer and choreographer Pál Frenák was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1957, as the youngest of eight children. His childhood was determined by the fact that both of his parents were deaf; his first means of self-expression was sign language. Following his fathers early death, he spent 7 years in an orphanage, before he started to study classical ballet, folk dance and modern dance in Budapest. Later he immigrated to Paris, France and studied classical ballet, Cunningham and Limon techniques and contemporary dance with Gilber Mayer, Germaine Silva, Janine Charrat, François Dupuy, Karine Wener, J.C. Ramseyer and Peter Goss. He founded his dance company in Paris: Compagnie Pal Frenak.

  • @MsRedheaddancer I could not help but notice you have neglected your reply to my recent comments on the other video concerning the envy you hold of the love between me and Katharine Mcfee. Your shame and defeat has not gone unoticed. You are making a fool of yourself by wallowing in your silence and Katharine is laughing at your attempts to ignore us. You will not toss us aside as if we are some petty troll, you will speak to us in your eloquent manner and you will do so soon..
