@stiphlerr I think norm actually just likes to offend a bit when he's making up stories, or to play the role of a bigot, but I wouldn't assume a gay joke means Norm looks down on gays or doesn't like gayness

I don't think people choose to be gay. Would you go out tomorrow and go hey I think I want to be gay. I think Norm was the one who said that.

@gd129 He was always political, but he was on shows that only allowed one point of view (SNL, for example) so they wouldn't let him get political.

@pretorious700 Deutchland Uberalles!

@TheBaconheart another genius

People don't work their life to be gay? Guess he's never seen Justin Bieber.

I though the joke was hilarious, but the discussion here from some is too negative. I understand both side. The people are proud because other people are saying that they should be ashamed, but Norm is pointing out that it is still strange that people now have to be proud of just being what they are (i.e. woman, gay, black, hispanic, ...). These things are only seen as achievements because people are working against negative stereotypes. Typically, achievements are created by achieving a goal.

Norm did this bit on his stand-up special, which was in San Francisco... very brave, but he got them to laugh at it.

i think they canceled him because he is honest. he doesn't pretend that he homosexuality doesn't bother him. Hollywood is full of homosexuals and i am sure the fact he used to make all these "gay jokes" had something to do with him being canceled. i like him a lot because he is not fake.
