Of the 11 members of the Council, six are hunters, who are recommended by the NJ Federation of Sportsmen, three are farmers, who are recommended by the agriculture community, one is the chair of the Endangered and Non-Game species committee and the last is the 'public' representative to the council. All members of the Council support hunting,
While you may think that the 'public' representative might have views consistent with the general public, think again, At the Aug. 13, 1996 Fish and Game Council meeting, Fish and Game Director Robert McDowell referred to the then newly appointed 'public' member as a "Bowhunter whose tree-stand is in his bedroom."
After a major campaign against the Council in 2000, a non-hunter was appointed by the Governor and now holds the public member seat on the Council. However, this is only a small step towards breaking the iron grip that the hunting communtiy has over all over wild animals. One orgainzation, the Ferderation of Sportsmen, still holds the majority vote.
The sad truth is that there is no real voice for the 98.7%, or 7,900,000 people in our state who do not hunt.

WHY IS THE STATE OF NJ TAKING MONEY FROM THE NRA TO TEACH CHILDREN TO KILL ANIMALS?
http://www.hnva.net/youthhunt.html What you can do to oppose hunting * Join JA and become an anti-hunting activist * Write to provincial and national conservation authorities and object to the opening of conservation areas to hunters * Let hunters know that you are opposed to their violent pastime * Dont visit conservation areas which allow hunting * Dont purchase the by-products of hunting i.e venison, biltong, animal skins, curios from hunted animals * Boycott stores that sell hunting equipment and promote hunting * Write anti-hunting letters to newspapers and magazines * Support campaigns to end hunting * Do not join or support conservation organisations that promote or tolerate hunting as an acceptable component of sustainable use.
The report also confirms that most wild animal collisions occur during early morning (5am-7am) or after sunset (5pm-11pm). Deer hunting is permitted one half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset.

I didn't have the time to read all the captions in this. I agree hunting in NJ has become business and has pretty much taken the "heritage" and original purpose out of it. That is coming from a hunter. Lets face it, hunters will not turn into "antis" and "antis" will not turn into hunters.

Thank you for the honesty and you got right anti's will never end up killing innocent life especially for self gratification/sportts/trophy. But there are few hunters such as steve hindi of SHARK who was once a hunters now an anti-hunters who fights for the rodeo animals, hunted animals and other cruelty done in the name of greed and selfishness.

once again you fail to put up both of my comments. You say its all about buck deer and trophy hunting but in nj there is half the buck deer killed as there is does. Last year's stats i believe it was 18,000 bucks to 34,000 does. ANd NJ isn't about trophy's just to kill a buck you need to shot a doe so you can get a buck tag. Its called earn buck. I am so sick and tired of your nonsense. I proved the trophy buck thing wrong last post but you didnt' post again shocker.

"Its called earn buck. I am so sick and tired of your nonsense."
I heard hunters do not like to shoot doe they want the buck deer and "earn a buck" causes the sale of tags to go down . Sadly because hunting organization manipulates deer habitat to create large deer herd (mainly the buck) they also end up with too many does that no one wants and that is they are killed off that way even with yearling or fawns.
Doe killing does not work either - there is a link to the anatomy of a doe hunt

What exactly is this "supplement feeding"? I thought CWD can be spread by feeding deer so please explain to the public exactly what is "supplement feeding" and what purpose does it serve.?
