Video produced by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on two projects designed to help young deaf children and their hearing parents learn American Sign Language (ASL). CopyCat is an educational game that uses computer sign language recognition to verify that a child signs a phrase correctly before proceeding to the next level. SMARTSign is a mobile phone based language learning tool that helps parents learn ASL through mini-lessons throughout the day and a spoken English to ASL dictionary. These projects are funded in part by the Institute for Education Sciences, NSF, and the NIDRR WIreless RERC.
