I have just returned from Iceland where I had a further go at getting footage of the Northern Lights. While I was there I put together this guide to how I use XDCAM EX1, EX3 and PMW-350 to shoot the Aurora. I use the EX slow shutter at 16, 32 or 64 frames combined with interval record set to 1 frame every second.
This guy is wonderful we should fund another trip for him . Thank You !

Amazing video, very educational for photographers as well (the fps / timelapse part). Just subscribed to your channel, i hope you can manage to capture the Aurora Borealis in better weather conditions in the future. I just looked up the price for the camera, its really expensive (you must be rich :P). B.t.w., how did the camera stay so steady with the storm in the end? Some re-inforced tri-pod or something?
