SNL's 'Weekend Update' vs 'The Daily Show'

When asked if he feels rivalrous with "The Daily Show's" Jon Stewart, Seth Meyers, host of SNL's "Weekend Update," jokes that Brian Williams is actually his rival. "All I want to be is the most trusted name at NBC," he says with a smile.

Seth Meyers is entering his tenth season on "Saturday Night Live," which premiered in 1975 and has won twenty-one Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards. This is his fifth season as head writer, and his fifth as an anchor of "Weekend Update." He began his career at ImprovOlympic, in Chicago, and the Boom Chicago Theatre, in Amsterdam, and toured Europe with his show "Pick-Ups and Hiccups." In July, he hosted the ESPY Awards.

Very few people in Europe even know of RussiaToday, least of all in Russia. Its targeted at the US market, mostly (some UK, some latin america, somewhat for arabian countries).

Its certainly not at all representative for "European news" (there is no such thing btw, its a very diverse market, from trash to far more classy than NPR, also mostly divided by country, certainly by lanugage divides).

SNL is fucking awful. There is not rivalry between the Daily Show and Weekend Update because the Daily Show dominates it in every way possible.
