(Urdu) FATHER OF MOLLY, SAJAD AHMED RANA, SAYING: "Her mother phoned the police and she was asked by the police whether she has come on her own and police realised that they can not take any action. Therefore, they did not take any action. This girl was only 11 years old when she was with her parents. She had no courage to leave her mother like her other brothers and sisters. Where there is no knowledge of "halal" or "haraam", her mother took her somewhere else where nobody knew where they were, she was told by her mother not to make any contact with her father or her sister or brother. She was like a prisoner there."

(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) FATHER OF MOLLY, SAJAD AHMED RANA, SAYING:
"Initially her mother never asked her to abandon the religion of Islam, she wanted her to remain Muslim, but then she (her mother) converted, and she wanted to convert them (children) also."
Rana also read a statement to the news conference in which he said his ex-wife's outlook had been poisoned by a "lunatic fringe of white racists" against brown and black people and Islam, and she required treatment after suffering a mental breakdown.
But, Rana, who has British citizenship, said he was ready to give the mother access to her daughter in Pakistan.
