milling a vise clamp down on a novakon nm-070 / sieg kx1. this is the 4th one on the block. the tool has gotton noisy, i think its becoming dull at this point, the finish is slighly worse than the previous ones. feeds rates in the slotting operation is 5ipm, the climb milling is 10ipm. the plunging of the hole is a very conservative 1ipm (really should be done with a drill bit). the bit is a 2 flute carbide 1/4", running at 5000rpm (327sfm). no coolant other than a quick shot at the end of the slotting to see if it made things quieter... it didnt.
