http://www.flickr.com/photos/bob_andi/ In 1971 the Daceyville Public School Military Band, under the leadership of Fred Royal (OAM) achieved something remarkable. Having won the state title for primary school bands, Daceyville was invited back to compete in the state championships for NSW high schools. With an average age of only 10 years old, the Daceyville band entered and they won! This is the piece they played - The Westerners Overture (arranged by Harold L Walters). Note: - whilst the recording is from 1971 some of the pictures in the slideshow are from 1972 and 1973 - if anyone can provide more pictures from this time please send them through to me.
I am Japanese. When I was a junior high school student, I performed this tune. I think being able hearing this tune with youtube to be glad. Thank you.
