Cool, thanks for the demonstration!

I was told by Bob Shannon,
who has built a Barkhausen battery, that if you
find the right iron material and have the magnet
fixed at the right distance, so the BH curve working point is right, you get several noise clicks per second for free !

that's an interesting theory. i have software that can render a waterfall graph of the output signal and can re-do the test and post my images if you want me to

So you induce the Barkhausen noise into the nickel plated steel terminal screws ?
Or where is the Barkhausen noise generated ?
Would there be any Barkhausen-noise, if you
hang the magnet on a string in the most sensitive
distance and let it just hang there ?
( Tiny movements from a pendulum would induce noise ? )
Many thanks.

movements induce noise. the noise is actually the domains in the metal changing their alignment

once they have reached their saturation point, the noise quits. that's why you have to keep moving the magnetic field around

Hi,
is this an iron wire electroplated with silver ?
You wrote it is a silvered conductive loop (wire).
But silver normally has no Barkhausen effect, right ?
Please come to overunity dot com and let us know.
Many thanks. Regards, Stefan. ( admin of overunity dot com )

The terminals are nickel plated steel, and the silvered loop is shorting out the ground and antenna terminals to provide a lower impedance. The receiver is normally connected to a long wire antenna and a ground rod.
