I have MFJ 30 M CW, and it is the best little radio I've ever owned. It's allowed me to make the furthest contact I've ever done (around 9,400 miles). I can't say enough good about MFJ, and it's worth the money. It may seem a little steep for one band, but the controls are very smooth, and it's a very stable setup. 73s n Happy QSOing, Matt
@mnpd007 Isn't there a way to put an RF choke, or low pass filter in-line to reduce the distortion? I guess with that in-line, you'd be running serious qrpp. LoL :)
Great little radios with hot receivers and good sound. My only complaint is that you couldn't work mobile with them.... no noise blanking at all. As soon as the engine started you got S7 of hash.
Moot point anyway for me... a lightning strike took mine out. :(
I HAD a 9440 until a lightning strike destroyed it. I was able to fix the receiver which now works fine, but the transmit board is toast. Breaks my heart to this day and that was two years ago. These are great little rigs but are getting to be a bit overpriced. They also can't be used mobile since they are so unfiltered against vehicle/engine noise that the hash blocks all but the strongest signals.
Thanks for the nice video. I really enjoyed watching it.......

MFJ-9040 was my first HF rig that wasn't borrowed. With a indoor random wire, worked stations every time I called CQ!
