Former TWC OCM Dennis Smith explains what causes the leaves to turn colors in fall. He tells us that it's not necessarily the first frost but the warm sunny days with temperatures about 70 degrees along with cool nights with temperatures about 45 degrees also play a role in leaves turning colors and that less chlorophyll which makes leaves green is produced as the days get shorter. He also shows some of the different kinds of leaves that turn colors in different portions of the country.
The music in the background is "Faces of the Forest" by David Lanz.
