I majored in econ, along with a double major in history. In comparison, econ was far more demanding but is one of the best majors at learning how to discern and develop what my labor econ prof called "a finely tuned BS detector."

It is also true that if you are dedicated enough you will see graphs and charts haunting your dreams, especially just before and just after finals week.

BTW, inferior goods are not "terrible" they can be just fine, you just buy less as your income rises ;)
