I like Joel Osteen. He teaches a healthy, positive outlook on life. He doesn't preach against God. I'd rather Have a positive relationship towards Jesus ( He is my righteousness) than wallow in self abasement and deny the fact I am clean in Jesus Christ

Saying someone is disorderly or unruly because they dont understand or they are just to lazy to actually learn about God would be wrong in reading them. so Paul is saying to encourage them, help them...

So it may LOOK like they are being disorderly or unruly, but they are not. If someone says they want to follow God, why would they in turn start fighting what God says? Based on how you fight what I have shown, I could call you disorderly or unruly, but I know it is because you just dont get it. In time God will show you, but right now you just are not ready to see it.

In verse 11-13 Paul is saying to encourage each other. Respect those who word in teaching what is God to you, and those who are working hard around you. Verse 14 say to encourage those who are lazy, and the reason it says this is; if someone is excited about God but doesnt understand who God is, then they dont really do anything that will glorify God.

The next thing he writes is that we are people who belong to the light, not the darkness. So let us not sleep, but be wake and sober. He wasnt saying not to sleep physically; he was saying not to be asleep spiritually. Meaning to be aware or awake to God, and how do we awaken to God? By learning who God is, this comes by studying and learning who God is. But God is a Hebrew God, so you have to look at God as Hebrew. With the eyes of a Jew, a person who looks to God first in everything.

I give you an example of why I say you are not reading this correctly. Paul wrote this to the Thessalonians, a group of Gentiles who accepted Jesus as the Messiah. These people are excited about God, but know very little. In the beginning of this chapter Paul said the day of God will come like a thief in the night. But the ones who know God will not be caught off guard. 1 Thessalonians 5 Verse 1-4

So your aim being to help them change, to encourage the timid, to assist the weak, and to be patient with everyone.

Even your KJV says comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. This does not sound like people who disorderly or unruly. It is more someone who is lazy.

The word Ataktous in how Paul uses it is saying that the people are not following what God said, as the Jews follow what God said. Disorderly, or unruly is a poor translation, even lazy is not the best... basically Paul was saying, even though the people have been shown and taught what God said, they still do not follow what God said to follow. They are not walking with God because of laziness or failure to do as God asked.

The word in Greek does not have a clear translations the more modern translation is in a sense a militant translation, like to break ranks or disorderly conduct. This is the translation you read. This is not the Hebrew teaching, I would ask your Rabbi before you tell people the translation you are using, because it is incorrect.

You got the translation from the website Scripture 4 all that uses the KJV in their translation. That translation is a very poor translation of Greek. Again done by someone who does not understand Hebrew or the people.
