  • I just listened to the whole thing, and it was fantastic. So personal. Very little of the technical muscularity that I love in his operas. I have admired Salieri as a master composer for years, but now I feel like I have gotten to know him.

Thanks for putting it up complete. The pictures were ..just right.

I feel like I should have bought a ticket!

  • His other church music I've heard ranges from nice to forgettable but this requiem is a deep declaration of faith that even a completely non-religious man like me is moved by it.

There are requiems with better music, no doubt about it, but I've not heard another that FEELS like this one.

Thanks for mentioning the pictures, I've never put so much effort into finding the right art for every movement, every stanza, every verse of the text and I doubt I'll do anything like this in the future again.

  • Part a capella in 2:07 is miraculous...

  • @benji130983 I have written a requiem as well... as soon as it is published and recorded, It's coming on here.

  • I studied it for 3, and just last month learned there was an Agnus Dei...

  • I first studied this nearly 10 years ago, and am still amazed by this specific movement, along with the Introitus et Kyrie

  • a truly great Requiem, and like so many people have said - very personal!

@likeyrion: I would be interested in hearing yours as a composer myself who has already written a Requiem

  • I had never heard Salieri before. Mozart's requiem Mass has allways been my favorite, I'm not sure anymore. This is truly one of the best settings of the prayers of the requiem mass I have ever heard. I had always wondered what the requiem mass would sound like as composed by a faithful Catholic (as opposed to mozart). I will have this sung at my requiem. And i'm definently submitting it to our organist for all souls day mass. I will let you know i we make a recording.

  • Now I finally know what Salieri's requiem sounds like! I, myself am writing a Requiem and so I am listening to a variety of them. Salieri's is definitely one of the best, and I like how it was actually used, not like some of the later ones

  • Очень красивая,загробная музыка-браво Сальери!!!

  • Bravo. You Sir have done a wonderful job.

Not to mention putting up this tremendous work I've heard no where else.

    You made my night!
