CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- The big concern in all this snowy weather is that as the temperatures continue to drop, even if the snow clears, we will continue to see more ice.We talked to health care providers at TriHealth who say they have seen a number of injuries from slips and falls, especially with broken wrists and ankles.Doctor Andrew Cross, a hand surgeon, said, The most common things we see in our office are broken bones. They may have broken a hand or wrist from a fall, especially at this time of year with the ice. We also have people coming in with symptoms of hand arthritis. So quick reminder in all this, while you may not see the ice (it could be black ice) it's still a big risk. The weather is very dangerous right now and in the next few days. So if you are headed anywhere while it's suggested you are careful driving on the roads, be careful as well with every step. When you are walking, headed into work or buildings in the area, we all need to lower the risks for slips and falls by simply using caution.
