OK as promised here's the update of my 3 and hopefully LAST surgery...
overall the surgery was a success...if you can call having to further the amputation, a success. After 7 Days now the swelling continues to be a LARGE part of my continued pain. Medications seem to only take away the headaches that seem to be from the overall pain. If anyone has other ideas how to relieve the pain, let me know. (no illegal ideas please!) Anyways, hopefully in three or four weeks I will be able to start with my prosthetic fitting and start that long process.

Unlucky buddy hope the pain subsides soon. Codeine is the strongest non prescription painkiller I know of, failing that ask your doc to prescribe some vicodin that will definitely sort it out. Hope you feel better soon and good luck with the prosthetics.

Dude, I know what you are going through, I had a potato gun explode on me while firing it, it claimed most of my hand, leaving me with my ring and pinky fingers after the surgery. I hope you are recovering well, and take care. If you want to talk about it privately, feel free to contact me.

I don't know if you're a believer, but I've been choosing to use my hand pain as a reminder to pray and think about Our Savior, who suffered all pain. my goal is to get to the point where I'll gladly suffer the pain i have for Him. Its been working.

aw man, I'm sorry this happened to you :(. I hope you can overcome this and continue to do what you love... Man, that is terrible, did they ever actually come up with a reason as to why the shotgun malfunctioned?
