A green FLF (Lodekka) of Eastern National; and 2 Blue Fleetlines of SCT. My Mum also worked at Cotgroves. She also was working at the Dolphin Restaurant at the end of the pier in the early sixties when the old Pavilion caught fire (before the Bowling alley was built on the ashes) Mum and the other staff were stranded there for hours. They all got pissed as there were free drinks but had to walk back so that sobered them up as the trains were out of action.

Cotgroves was where I had one of my birthday parties this was in the early eighties and I remember it so well. This is why I do searches for Southend in youtube to see what this town and nearby areas looked like way back when.

Great
when I see film like this it makes me wish I'd taken more photos when it was still like this. I remember when they tore down The Ritz. I happened to be out with the boyfriend walking and the whole front had gone revealing the whole of the tiered seating inside, wow ! what a photo - had I my camera with me.
