Flight in the Catalina

Jacqueline has won a prize: a flight in the Catalina!
Luckily for me, she had to be accompanied by an adult ;-)
On September 13th, we drove to the Aviodrome at Lelystad Airport and made a couple of "Splash & Go's" in the Consolidated PBY-5A also known as "Catalina", named "Karel Doorman" with registration PH-PBY.
This seaplane was built in 1941 and is powered by two 1200hp Pratt & Whitney R1830 engines.
Everything was well organized, including a prebriefing and a debriefing.

@MarkKipping Thank you so very much for sharing! Very very few people get to ride along in a Catalina. I saw one up close on display (Could touch & peek inside) in Tillamook Oregon but getting onboard to fly is quite the treat. I hope the girl realizes just how fortunate she has been to experience this.
