From what I understand, there was never any hard evidence linking Osama to the attack on 9/11. More and more scientific evidence is being brought forward hinting towards the idea that Osama was more than likely a straw man of an inside job conducted by higher ups in the United States government in order to justify our invading the middle east. I for one believe that the United State will never leave the middle east and will continue to build permanent military bases.

I think the US underestimated the support he received from the regime in Pakistan, the timing of his location is revealing. There's good reason to assume the reason countries like, Egypt, Libya, Syria where his support was most fertile, are all in deep shit, is through carefully organised external influence. It's not a leap of logic for the regime in Pakistan to ask, Are we next? So they gave him up because he became a liability instead of a cash cow.
