dude, where's my cave troll?

Thought I'd burn someone elses group project this time, vindictive little S.O.A.B that I am...

There's a bit of a glitch in the rendering - I'm not taking small enough steps when I'm ray marching the fire, so you can see a bit of noise on his skin in the original video. I'm thinking I could do adaptive steps and fix that... Quite pleased with the results anyway though. To see the cave troll in her natural habitat, just search for "cave troll bournemouth"...

Thanks. Yeah, this was me testing a fire system I'd been making, using someone elses animation. I think the troll was modelled/animated in Maya and XSI (see "The Cave Troll" under related videos to see where the animation came from), and the rendering was done using PRMan...
