Holy cow! Disco / Polka / Abba sound-alikes with BAGPIPES! What more do you want? (This song makes me want to bounce in my chair.) I love that horsey disco Lipizzaner dance thingy they do!

Luv was (is?) a Dutch pop girl group that scored a string of successful hit records in Europe, South Africa and Mexico in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The group consists of: José Hoebee, Marga Scheide and Patty Brard.

Their song, "Trojan Horse" (1978), made it to #1 on the charts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Poland, #2 in Austria and Switzerland, #3 in Germany, #17 in South Africa, #36 in France.

I don't remember ever hearing this song played here in the U.S., but back in those days, I was resolved to keep my fingers plugged firmly into my ears until the entire "disco era" was over with. But even back then, I think I would have liked this if I'd heard it.

Bagpipes and disco. Who'da thunk...

  • @NebundupaMary - correction: you're too stupid for this century since you appear unable to understand my post above which relates to a time when the UK had one nationalised pop music station that dictated what the listeners heard. Trojan Horse would not have made it to their playlist.

  • @Enerjee you are too stupid for this century

  • Bellissimi!

  • @frans251270 - Sorry, the UK is part of the continent of Europe and always has been. However, because it's an island the radio stations (especially the BBC) have always been isolated from other countries on the European mainland and arrogantly considered themselves to have better musical taste than the French, Italians, Spanish, Dutch, Germans, etc. Having said that, the French feel that about everything they do despite not being an island.

  • @Enerjee Since when is the UK not in Europe anymore?

  • Back then, many bands in Europe were tryin' to be ABBA-wannabes!

  • Schon die Choreographie ist sehenswert....und der Song unvergesslich.

  • the dark one makes the funniest faces!

  • Lovely!!!

  • briljante opname dat konden ze goed in Duitsland
