Background
Ketnet is the childrens channel in VRT network in Belgium. The channel was extremely popular but dated in look and feel and in need of a refresh.
Challenge
The brief was to re-establish a relationship with kids by helping them to develop creative and imaginative minds. This was made all the more challenging by the fact that the channel targets kids of all ages.
Solution
Our creative solution centred on "randomness" which was used to spark and inspire kids imaginations The 'K' of Ketnet became a character to engage kids in three different age categories: pre-school, school age and 11+ e.g. colourful and playful 'K' for pre-school
e.g. eager and keen 'K' for school age learning new things Idents and OSP were colourful, vibrant and constantly changing and evolving.
Outcome
Aime van Hecke, General Manager of VRT, was extremely pleased with the design work.

I saw another rebrand of Ketnet; when it launched, they had grafitti, drawings, and finger paints in their IDs.
