This is a Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service fire engine turning out to an incident as seen from inside the crew cab. It demonstrates just what a difficult job the driver of an emergency vehicle has, even in relatively light traffic!

  • This vid is old, probably 10 years. It's S10, S15 is Wythensawe. The bull horn was removed brigade wide in late 03 or early 04, can't remember exactly. It was because of a complaint on park rd Stretford from a guy in a car who got the good news from the 2nd pump because he didnt see us in his mirror and was changing lanes as we were coming up to pass him at about 40mph. Anyway, some appliances had the bull horn reinstated by members of some stations (not S10) by replacing the fuse for it.

  • Love the siren!

  • @MrPresidentToBe some do

  • No buddy there are very few trained to drive.. but the driver is able to carry out all the other roles in the crew too!

    I hear you bohemoth1! :)

  • Is there only 1 driver for each engine, I was under the impression that they all knew how to drive and do all the other roles and they changed duties each shift.

  • @SirGazButch Not in Manchester....

  • @SirGazButch some dont

  • they still have the bull horn's on the fire engines

  • @andycoach1965 Nice video mate, heard about services removing the bull-horns, it really sucks. I'd like the people who made that decision to define 'too aggressive' when their on a turnout. Our newer engines in Suffolk have got them but they lack proper 2 tone air horns.
