It worked for me. I had 3 duplicates, which is really annoying. I did the "true" duplicates, then I deleted all the songs but "Keep files" I clicked that because I did not want my songs truly deleted. Then I had to go back to Library and "add folder", and all my songs were back in iTunes. iTunes should have an easier way about this, IMHO.

I had 278 songs and I dont know how but the next time I started iTunes I had 50087 songs!
So it duplicated like 500 times :/
Any suggestions?

wait so when you display the duplicates is that the whole library with the dup. included? or is that just all the songs that are duplicated so if i delete them all i still have a copy of each song?
-
This deletes the entire library!!!

You stupid fuck!! That only shows the exact duplicates... So if you delete it like you did, you deleted the complete song and won't show in the library>> by the way you didn't caught me :-)

deleting will fuck with your playlists so save them. You may still have issues with that as file destinations may change. Either way if your looking here be warned could be a shit show. Just took me awhile to clean up my iTunes. Also true duplicates will not catch all duplicates. Its just the safest way to get the bulk of them with 99 percent accuracy. Try using other sort fields while regular duplicates are displayed like time to find other doubles. Thumbs up to help these 2 comments to help!
