I was born in Alexandria, Virginia, a few blocks from Lee's boyhood home. I grew up playing on the lawn of Mount Vernon, George Washington's home. I spent many joyous fieldtrips in Williamsburg and Jamestowne. I always dreamed of having a library like Thomas Jefferson's. I would visit James Madison's home and imagine all of the trials and victories surrounding our constitution. I learned of pride, honour, duty, integrity, and loyalty from the lives of Virginians past. I am a Virginian.

@NationalEvent12 But do you miss the high taxes and extreme prices of basic necessities that comes with living in Fairfax County (Which is 2nd only to Orange County, CA in terms of the costs of living)?

@rebsiegel Save for all the taxes we pay, including the 5% annual Personal Property Tax on the book value of each vehicle one owns (Certain exceptions to reduce the amounts owed are available depending on the vehicle's use), and Fairfax County in Northern Virginia is the second most expensive place to live after Orange County, CA for the cost of living (taxes, property prices, food costs, etc).

Oh how I miss Virgina! I live in Texas and I have to say I hate it so much. I miss those green trees and green grass. All I have hear is bushes for trees and heat like hell. God bless Virginia and Fairfax county!!!!!

@JuliusCaesar1914 I live in North Virginia. When I was a little girl, it was a great place- elderly couples, big families... now that I'm fifteen, I'm noticing all these people coming in from DC. It's upsetting me. I don't want this beautiful place to change. =/
