Great late medieval Spanish chant

@Krisch613 As a native spanish speaker, I can say with some degree of confidence that it would make more sense to say "guardó la cordera del lobo". Saying "guardó al lobo de nuestra cordera" does in fact mean "kept the wolf from our lamb" in a literal sense, but it is awkward. Guardar means something like "to protect" or "to keep safe", not "to keep" in general.
-
@calenlass Entirely incorrect. Guardo el lobo doesn't mean guarded the wolf. It means "guarded against"- or in better English- "kept". It translates "Kept the wolf" from, of course, "Nuestra cordera"- our lamb.

That guy on the drums has made my day :)

@Curiouslyobsessed Soloist is Rory Musgrave.

I've heard many versions of this song -- it's one of my favorites to listen to for the Christmas holidays. This is by far the best I've ever heard. The voices are so warm and mellow, the pacing is perfect -- it's just beautiful.

sorry, but who is the soloist here? Just wanted to know

@calenlass Yes, 100% agree with the comment above. For this to make sense it should be "Dios guardó del lobo a nuestra cordera". I've been trying to find, not many versions in youtube with the right lyrics!! Other than that, it sounds great!
It should be "Díos guardó DEL lobo A nuestra cordera"! "Guardó el lobo de nuestra cordera" means "guarded the wolf from our lamb" :/

@calenlass No, those are the correct lyrics. Languages evolve and change over time.

@yudonojack I would agree with you in normal circumstances except for the attractive Spanish lady who was almost apoplectic with laughter tonight over the error...
