Yes the Muslims' rule in India had more negative than positive impact, but it also shaped a lot of our culture (food, language, music, architecture, literature so on so forth). And the Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan for his wife, no doubt. It was NOT a Shiva-linga or mandir.
