no doubt man...been skylarkin' in the reed seeds for the the past few...if you havnt, check out the cd/album "Discovery, The First Recordings" a jamm called 'No Way'...one of many mixed with some blues flavor...just happened to stumble on that 1 one day at the record store...made my day for days
@WordellFranklin - Right on!! Locksmith, what a great reference. My first album I owned and wore out was that unreal Live at the Bijou LP that was Grover w/ Locksmith. Still to this day my favorite album ever and still listen the hell outta it. 7:15 on this clip is "Lock in the Pocket" no less. Great to see your nod to that period. Be well my friend !
Grover was the epitome of a musicians musician, an amazing impovationalist, wow i missed i studied him to the maxx as a kid coming up and could do it all from classical to sraight ahead and everything in between im still working at meeting that level of musicianship
WoW...I can't believe this is ONLY the sound check...My guy Grover was JAMMIN"...Dag I miss him. There'll NEVER be another like him IMHO. Jazz just hasn't been the same.
