This is one of the last concerts where he wore a cape. Many times Elvis would almost be pulled off the stage by eager fans grabbing at the cape when Elvis would reach out to shake or touch their hands. For his own security the cape was therefore stopped for good around this time. He had been using matching capes with his jumpsuits since 1971.
I saw some of his capes on display at Graceland. They are truly stunning.

Elvis was in top form here. I found those concerts, in The Nassau Coliseum, as brilliants as the ones he did in the Madison Square Garden the year before, 20 miles away in Manhattan. Elvis always gave outstanding gigs in New York, was it in 1972, 1973 or 1975!
