This video try to show an etymological review of 'Sarissa' and 'dory' two famous Macedonian weapons. 'Sarissa' is nothing else but an Illyro-Albanian word which mean 'Unreachable' of Albanian phalanxes of Alexander's time.
@Deathtogreece2 "In the Hesiodic Catalogue of Women, Graecus is presented as the son of Zeus and Pandora II, sister of Hellen the patriarch of Hellenes.[114] Hellen was the son of Deucalion who ruled around Phthia in central Greece. The Parian Chronicle mentions that when Deucalion became king of Phthia, the previously called Graikoi were named Hellenes"
"A modern theory derives the name Greek (Lt. Graeci) from Graecos inhabitant of Graia -or Graea-(Γραία), a town on the coast of Boeotia."
@Deathtogreece2 "The Parian Chronicle says that Phthia was the homeland of the Hellenes and that this name was given to those previously called Greeks. In Greek mythology, Hellen, the patriarch of Hellenes, was son of Pyrrha and Deucalion, the only survivors after the great deluge"
"Aristotle names ancient Hellas as an area in Epirus between Dodona and the Achelous river, a land occupied by the Selloi and the "Greeks" who later came to be known as "Hellenes"
@Deathtogreece2 First of all, "Graeco" was NOT given to Greeks by the Romans. It's the name of an ancient greek tribe "Graekoi" (Γραικοι) which is older than the Romans. The Romans called us that because of that tribe. The name already existed.
Secondly, i just showed you evidence that clearly say that Proto-Greeks had nothing to do with Illyrians. They belong in totally different groups.
"We are not Greeks, we are Hellenes"? Really? Let's se...
@Deathtogreece2 Lol you don't have time now? Funny.. you have enough time to make videos on YT saying that ancient greek words are actually.. Albanian and when i prove you wrong you suddenly don't have time to argue? How convenient xD.
I can't blame you. Being Albanian your cultural background is probably lower than Zero so all you can do is play with words that sound alike and then run away from the facts. I posted you links from scholars. What do you have?
@StormbringerRuler Graeco-Aryan haaaaaaaaaaaaaa the name Graeco was given to you by the Romans and Aryan is the oldest civilization in Europe. Aryan>Pelasgian>Illyrian(proto-illyrians ancient greeks). And you are not Greek you are Hellen descendants of Danaas from Egypt
@StormbringerRuler you cant argue sense with a gayreek, you live in your delusional everything is gayrek fantasy, My time very valuable mate shit to do stuff to learn you enjoy your fantasy world while it lasts
"The satem languages (which have the sibilant where the centum equivalents have the velar) include Indo-Iranian, Armenian, Baltic, Slavic, Albanian, and perhaps also a number of barely documented extinct languages, such as Thracian-Dacian."
"The centum group includes all remaining dialects, i.e. Italic, Celtic, Germanic, Hellenic, Tocharian, Anatolian and possibly a number of lesser-known extinct groups"
As you can see, proto-Greek was rather different than Illyric or Armenian or Slavic. :)
"Greek is a Centum language, which would place a possible Graeco-Aryan protolanguage before Satemization, making it identical to late PIE. Proto-Greek does appear to have been affected by the trend of palatalization characteristic of the Satem group, evidenced for example by the (post-Mycenaean) change of labiovelars into dentals before e but the Satemizing influence appears to have reached Greek only after Greek had lost the palatovelars (i.e. after it had already become a Centum language)"
@Deathtogreece2 I find it totally amusing that you fail so much to find me ANY reliable sources supporting your claims. It seems that you're only talking out of your ass. I have repeated myself many times. Get me evidence or shut up.
And no, Koine Greek, as i posted in my link below, is 100% Greek. Did you see any "Armenian" or "Hebrew" being mentioned in my link? No. The scholars agree that it comes from a mixture of GREEK dialects so it's only Greek. I wonder why you keep embarassing yourself
@Deathtogreece2 Obviously you know shit about history if you claim that Greeks are not Hellenes and that the name "Greeks" came from the Romans..
I'd suggest that you delete your ridiculous video and stop typing in here.. find a cave and hide or something. spare yourself the humiliation. =)
