General Motors revolutionary 2010 Chevrolet Volt from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan January 2009. The Volt is powered by electricity using a lithium battery pack that provides up to 40 miles of all electric driving at any speed. After 40 miles the Volt's onboard gasoline powered generator provides sufficient electric energy to continue driving an additional 300+ miles. The Volt is expected to become available in late 2010 or early 2011. To view in high definition please click the "360p" icon under the YouTube viewing window.

  • I don't think it will do well.... :/

It seems more like a step back than forward.

There EV1 went around 100 miles per charge, the volt goes 40.

I'm sure removing the Gasoline engine would reduce a lot of weight, giving the Volt a decent electric range.

Design wise, the car is ok, I just hate the front door window style.

  • Wow..its you again. You must have been sitting at home and typing negative comments onto every Volt video. Maybe you wanna let everyone here know about the sweet Nissan Leaf...you know the hybrid which can only make it about 100 miles:):):)

  • It's more like $32K.

And beauty is in the eye of the beholder: some people think the fugly PT Cruiser looks cool...

  • I've seen this same exact post in another chevy volt clip. Are you just going to copy and paste your post to every volt video? Besides, I think the Volt looks pretty futuristic. You dont always have to have a super aggressive looking car to be nice looking. If you think it's boring looking then that's your opinion, but when I'm cruising on the highway in that furturistic looking interior getting 100-150 mpg I'm not going to be the one regretting my purchase.

  • The looks of the Volt just screams, "Geezer-mobile!" It has those boring edges that old people like (similar to Buicks).

AutoObserver is the one who described the Volt as, "Grandma's electric vehicle."

Edmunds said the Volt was, "Electrifyingly Bland."

Anyone who pays $40K for Granny's car is an idiot.

  • Great Car.
