very brave, I

I would go straight on at the traffic lights on Thompson Street and turn left on to Whessoe road rather than turn right on North road by B&Q. Your are v brave to risk it and must be fit to cycle up the hill on Thompson Street bridge.

You go past my old house on North Road there mate, just after the Thompson Street part ;)

Although I learned to drive on the left, I've been in the U.S. for over 20 years now and it's freaky to see traffic on the 'wrong' side.

It would have been so much easier to go under the 5 arches and then on to North Road

The path along the river is great, right up until you have to dodge all the dog walkers on a morning and then get stuff thrown at you on a night on the way home...

In fact the path along the river is great for dog walkers except for having to dodge all the cyclists!!!! Who are supposed to give way to pedestrians!!!

Have you actually tried giving way to a pedestrian on a bike? I'm still not sure what it involves.
However, it is pretty easy to move to the opposite side of the path and cycle past slowly. Unless there's a barely under control dog running loose. Or, worse, on the end of a virtually invisible extendable lead.
