The entire point of privatizing SS would be that no bureaucrat or politician can mess with it, as they do currently. Btw the Pozi scheme will be in the red by 2037.

I invest in 401k, IRA, mutual funds etc. But SS is going to be an important part of my diversified retirement "portfolio". I don't want anybody to mess with it. Neither G.W. Bush "privatized SS" nor some kind of Bernie Madoff.

Your thinking is why in a lefthanded lind of a way I wish Romney/Ryan had won. They would have tried exactly what you are talking about. Guess what that is going to be the death knell of the Republican party. Right now Mid term elections are the Republican strength, due to elderly vote.
