A police chase and shooting that started in Fort Worth Monday afternoon ended at an assisted living facility in Arlington with two men under arrest.
Fort Worth police said it all started with an attempted burglary of a residence in the 1800 block of Kingsbrook Trail on the city's far east side.
The suspects allegedly attempted to run over a police officer who was called to investigate.
That officer gave chase, and was joined in the pursuit by another police unit. At least two shots were fired at the fleeing vehicle.
The suspects' sedan crashed into a wall at the Shadow Ridge apartments in the 4000 block of Hamilton Circle in Arlington, less than three miles south of the original crime scene.
An apartment resident looked outside, saw the injured men, saw the bullet holes, saw a gun, and he gave chase as the suspects ran to the rear of the apartment complex.
At that point, the pair leaped over a fence into an assisted living facility, where a maintenance worker was able to secure the doors until police arrived to arrest the suspects.
Police said at least one of the men was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of injuries. The suspects' names were not available.
