Donna performed wonderfully live. Lets remember that Donna is also 62 years old. Not need to make comparisions. Many singers can't carry a song in a paper bag at her age.

People people stop fighting, let's put this pointless argument to rest. Karen Carpenter's version is was and will always be the definitive best. , period. The fact that Donna's voice is flat and sharp on some notes immediately takes her out of even hoping to compete with the great Karen Carpenter along with a host of other reasons that make this nice polite attempt nothng more than exactly that.

These types of arguments are pointless. It's one of the great pop songs of all time. Both ladies sing it beautifully. Just chill out and enjoy one of the most amazing tunes ever penned.

@siciliansummer listen to Karen Carpenter on this song live and then tell me is donna is anywhere near what Karen's version was with limited resouces she had to use in concert and not the Hollywood bowl.
