on days when i had classes (at akron u) in the morning, i used to have a sesh after school and showed up quite baked. you had to be good- stoned or straight- or you would get burns all over your hands/arms when cranking on the grille at lunchtime. i used to have 36 going at a time, while dressing and dishing/bagging the last 36, on my grille/counter. JP always seemed to burn or cut himself if he drank too much the night before, and jim would yell at us. LOL

i used to work the back-up grille at lunch at the original store at 105 s. main st. i was a kid just out of high school. i worked with larry ledman along side JP. Jim Lowe and Art Michaels would sit down at the end of the counter with their coffee and cigarettes. Big and little Johns Michaels would come in and fix or improve stuff when needed. I used to hate peeling and slicing onions in the morning- it would gas everybody out of the place for awhile. Jim would never judge by a guy's past. RIP
