The fact that RHDR locomotives were slightly too long for the R&ER turntables meant that the loco and tender had to be seperated for turning at the conclusion of each journey. This was the 11:10 arrival on Sunday 4th May.

  • seen this done once or twice before. amusing at the time but i was also reviled at seeing such beautiful locos cut in half.
