Well, it's probably because we are taught since lads that capitalism is the bomb that we often overlook how people enjoy greater things (like this) and we often focus on "sadly cruel (...) for making money"...probably, in a non-American way of thinking, they both are enjoying what they are doing and gladly accepting money as a byproduct not as a goal.
