Cadie's life was almost perfect. She lived in a beautiful town, in a cute house with her mother, Anne, and step-father. But when her parents go out one night and are killed in a car crash, Cadie is forced to move into with her father in Australia, who her mother divorced 7 years ago. Cadies father, Mudge, is not any more pleased with having her come and live with him as she is. When she arrives in Australia, she is greeted by her new mother, who her father had married 3 years ago, Bianca.
