Dash-cam video of Iowa chase on Interstate 80

The Iowa State Patrol released dash-camera video Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, of an extensive chase Aug. 10 that ended with the arrest of a Memphis man. Jason Hervey, 29, was arrested after the high-speed chase along Highway 965 and Interstate 80. The Iowa State Patrol said the chase began when a North Liberty police officer attempted to stop Herveys car for tinted windows and no front license plate. Hervey eluded the officer and sped off, leading officers on a chase that reached speeds over 100 mph. The chase ended when a troopers cruiser struck Herveys car, sending it sliding into the median. Hervey was charged with eluding, an aggravated misdemeanor, and five traffic citations, including reckless driving, speeding, following too close and improper use of lanes.
