  • @futureomega To answer your questions:

    1) No. There are a few pockets of wealthy people

    2) No. Like in most parts of South Africa, black people are the majority

    3) It's a relatively safe city. It obviously has its own criminal elements.

    4) Racism is rife in Bloemfontein. The progression of race relations has been rather slow.

    5) No. As long as you are not black, you won't be harassed by military personnel or the police

  • If you take realistic precautions and avoid more dangerous parts of South Africa you should enjoy your time in South Africa without risking your safety.

  • @futureomega if you want to visit a city in Africa that is relitvely safe i suggest either Port Elizabeth or Cape Town... DO NOT go to johannesburg.. i think it use to be ranked as the most dangerous city in the world

  • @gaguy1967 no it looks more like Canberra

  • A couple of questions: If I offend anyone... I am sorry.

    1) Is this part of Africa like the places they show on t.v, with the famine etc?

2). Do more races other than blacks live there?

    3) Is it a good city?

4). Is there a real bad racism problem?

    5) Do they have the military people that seize the other people, meaning running around shooting innocent people?

I want to know because I am looking into taking a vacation.

  • @joshebizonline Vive la Grey :D

  • I miss my school grey college there ---wow need to visit my home town again

  • @cityslicker975 Of course! Show the good stuff and hide the rest. I doubt the scenery shown was developed post-Aparthied by locals. Let me know.

  • bloemis is great... wish i appreciated it when i grew up there... now abroad.. missing it...
