  • chainsaw? i seriously won't be checking out your page

just kidding that was helpful but i'm going to need a job first so i can afford this putty..

  • @resortedfameforev11 Yea, the putty is all of $1.50 at Walmart.

  • hi tom,

the D5 on my clarinet is consistently sharp, which tone hole would I use the putty in? I'm guessing the tone hole for C5?

Will this have a negative impact on the low G?

    Thanks for your videos!

    Neal

PS. If you've got some time, check out my videos. =)

  • the tone hole you'd add material to is always the first open tone hole below the last closed tone hole.

This will lower the low G, esp. in louder dynamics, but you play about 50 exposed fourth line Ds for every one low G so it';s more important for the Ds to be well in tune. Sharp D and C on the Buffet are common and should be corrected.

  • On my clarinet I have the mouthpiece and all of the joints pushed in as tight as they go but it is still flat. What do you suggest?

  • Flatness, if it is general is usually solved or partially fixed with a shorter barrel. If the flatness is with specific notes you have to take it to someone like me and let me enlarge the tone holes, as I describe in the video above.
