Instructional Installation movie for Q2ID
Hello, thank you for purchasing Markzwares Q2ID. You have become one of thousands of people using this popular Markzware Adobe InDesign Plug-in which will convert your QuarkXPress projects into Adobe InDesign CS2, CS3 or CS4 with one click! As a note, Q2ID will open all versions of QuarkXPress including most importantly v6, 7 and 8.
But now it seems you are having a problem getting Q2ID to work on your machine. In this movie we will go through the most common problems and help you to solve it.

I dont see the Activation Code Window for Q2ID when I startup InDesign
First thing to check is to see if you are you on the latest version. You can check the current version by finding the Q2ID Plugin in the [Macintosh HD]/Applications/Adobe InDesign/Plug-Ins/Filters folder. By selecting it and typing Apple-I (Macintosh) or Right-Mouse-click and choosing Details from the pop-up menu (Windows), the version will be shown. If this version is higher than the one you have installed, download the latest version and use it to replace the older version.
You might have installed the wrong version of the Plugin. Since you received a version for CS2 were the name of the Plugin ends with .framework and a version for CS3 ending at .InDesignPlugin, a mistake is easily made. Double check if you installed the right version.
When I put in the AC of the upgrade, Im asked for an earlier code. Where can I find the old code?
Depending if you received a CD with your earlier purchase or not, you can either find the Activation Code on the inside of that box or find it in the email you received when you purchased online. To help you with your search; the email was from Element5, Digital River, Avangate or from your local reseller.
If you registered your product when you received it last time, you will be able to find it on your personal Markzware page at:

The Plugin shows as a folder instead of a Plugin
This problem often appears when the Plugin is unpacked on one platform and then transferred to another platform (i.e. Windows to Mac). There are two simple ways to solve this:
Only unpack the compressed file when it is present on the machine it will be installed on, or
Delete the file extension .framework (CS2) or .InDesignPlugin (CS3) from the folder and deselect the folder name. Now select the file name again adding .framework (CS2) or .InDesignPlugin. Deselecting the file name will change the folder to a Plugin again.
Why cant I get the latest version to work?
Your Activation Code will work for that version and you will be able to update whenever we hand out a free upDATE until a new upGRADE is launched. An upGRADE is a payed version. Contact your local reseller to find out if you need to purchase an upgrade.
Q2ID only works for my Mac or Windows but not both- why?
The Q2ID Plugin is purchased for either Mac or Windows; the Activation Code will not work on both platforms. If you did purchase the Plugin for the wrong platform, please contact the reseller you purchased from to see if the product can be swapped.
Will my Q2ID activation work on the other Markzware products?
If you received a CD, you will find multiple applications on the CD. We do this so we do not have to create separate CDs for every Application we sell. This is one of Markzwares contributions to a greener planet.
The Activation Code you received will only activate the application or Plugin you purchased.
