  • Interesting how the FT-707 still ranks among some of the newer radios. I think they have a better RX then the 850, and cost less then 1/4 the price of the K3. Easy to use in contest, and work well as a base. I have two complete sets, and will be keeping them. Thanks for the post.

  • i love the 850 from experience. hands down

  • the ft 707 sounds best!!

  • With strong single signal reception several rigs sound more pleasant but when noise, QRN and QRM enter the picture the K3 blows the others away. I've tested one on the bench and it performed amazingly well with test instruments, and even better in real life noisy crowded band conditions.

For casual listening to strong signals several old tube receivers sound very pleasant including Collins 75A4 and old Hallicrafters SX-28 from 1939. The lowest receive distortion is any Direct Conversion

  • I dunno Elecraft was suppose to be the best radio, but i like mostly 756pro3- cleaner modulation. ts 850 is just louder.

  • waiting for really the highest quality/price ratio radio on the market...and i am not an usa product lover..but k3 is amazing..i think i will order also the k2 just for mobile uses

  • nice shack and radios

  • TS-850 sounds better

  • mmm...PRO 3 have a plastic sound..

Ts 850s is really the best !! ;)

  • TS-850 is the best:) 73
